How many hours can I work per week?

Hours vary per client. Average is a minimum of 20hrs/week (5 of those hours must be on weekend) and max of 50hrs/week. But you can work for more than one client if you wish.

 

Am I required to work for a specific client?

Burton Technologies will provide you with detailed information during an open intro meeting that you will need to attend before completing an application. Please email us for date/time of next intro meeting.   

 

Can I work for more than one client?

Yes, you can work for more than one client, but you will be required to meet the minimum service hours and performance metrics established by your selected clients.

 

How much can I make per hour?

You can make between $9.00 to $16.00 per hour plus bonuses and incentives, depending upon the client and your performance. Some Client Support Professionals (CSP) decide to service more than one client to further maximize their earnings. This is a personal decision, but it is possible as long as the CSP is able to meet the goals/expectations (metrics) provided by the client.

 

What kind of work will I have to perform?

We are offering opportunities for customer service, sales, technical support, and chat support. There are NO COLD CALLS, NO DEBT CALLS, NO TELEMARKETING of any kind.

 

Once I start working, will I have a point of contact or support available?

Burton Technologies is always the first point of contact for our CSP's throughout the complete process, including after you start working. You will also have technical support, and other areas of support from our partner, Arise Virtual Solutions.

 

Will I be an employee or independent contractor?

Please be advised that you will be working with Burton Technologies as a 1099 Independent Contractor, NOT an Employee. For this reason, please consult a tax expert to ensure understanding of your obligations as a self-employed individual.

 

Can I work anywhere in the US?

We are currently not accepting new contractors from residents in the states of California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, Wisconsin and Oregon.

 

When can I start working?

Once you complete training and all required assessments, you can begin working immediately.

 

What will I need for client training?

You will need a VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) headset with Mic (USB or 2-prong for training), computer and internet. See Full Requirements here. Training is conducted within a live virtual setting. Your selected client will provide all necessary materials. Training is 4 hours per day unpaid. You are able to select from several training schedules. Training classes are held from Monday through Friday only. You cannot miss any days of training. 

 

What other equipment will I need to service the client?

You will need another VOIP headset (Hard-wired for servicing the client), a desktop or laptop computer, and a land line phone. See Full Requirements here.

 

Is the training free?

There is a fee paid to our Partner Company for the required CSP 101 Certification Training and Client Certification Training. A CSP willing to invest in their career is more committed to making their career a success! There is a misconception out there that if you have to pay up front it's not a legit opportunity. While there are many scams out there; in a typical W2, 9-5 job you have to pay for childcare, gas and other expenses to work before you get your first pay check. So you are investing before getting paid. This is much the same just instead of childcare and gas you pay a small fee for the training courses.

 

Does Burton Technologies or Arise offer any special programs?

Yes, Burton Technologies along with Arise Virtual Solutions offers special programs for military, military spouses, veterans, veteran spouses, active members of the US Armed Forces and students to receive special discounts on the CSP 101 Certification Training and / or the Client Certification Training.

 

How long do I have to complete the Arise Admissions Process?

You have a total of 7 days to complete the entire admissions process, including; Creating a Profile, Voice Assessment, Background Check, CSP 101 Certification Training Course, Join the Arise Network and Client Opportunity Selection. The Arise Admissions Process is not a long process, you must be committed, dedicated and ready to start working. 

 

Is Burton Technologies a temporary staffing agency?

No, we offer full and part time opportunities all throughout the year.

 

Does Burton Technologies offer health insurance?

Currently, we do not offer health insurance to our independent contractors at this time.

 

Can I work for Burton Technologies without a Social Security Number?

No, you must have a Social Security Number or a valid Tax ID Number for the background check.

 

What does the background check consist of?

Arise does not partner with any Client Support Professionals having been convicted, pled guilty or pled no contest to any felony, or certain misdemeanor charges, including but not limited to theft, fraud, drugs, violence or other similar violations. In addition, certain Arise clients require background checks in order to access their systems, and interact with their customers. There is a fee you pay to U.S. Information Search to complete your background check.

 

How old must I be to work for Burton Technologies?

You must be at least 18 years of age. Once you are old enough, we have some special incentive programs available for college students.

 

Can I move to a different state and still work for Burton Technologies?

Yes, as long your working environment meets the standard requirements.

 

What happens if I create a duplicate profile with Arise? 

Creating duplicate profiles is strictly forbidden. If you created a profile before but cannot remember the details, please send an e-mail to admissions@admissions.arise.com, and describe the details of your issue
